Since leaving "The Biggest Loser," Jillian has been working on flexing her softer side.
"That's a big reason I needed to leave the show," the 37-year-old reveals in November's Prevention magazine. Michaels felt the show focused on her signature boot camp workouts and rarely let the cameras roll on the more human side of her training sessions. "It doesn't show the deeper conversations or the interview where you explain why you did this or that, because they don't think it makes good TV."
These days Jillian is now a life coach; working to help people jump-start their lives to new careers, less stress, and more happiness. The former tough-as-nails trainer describes her next life chapter in Prevention as, "helping people be happy and healthy in every facet of their lives, whether it's career, relationships, or physical well-being." She also takes care of her own happiness factor with therapy and horseback rides. Certainly a different side of Jillian than "Biggest Loser" fans ever saw!
Jillian is also about to fulfill her biggest dream – becoming a mom. She's in the process of adopting a baby from the Democratic Republic of Congo. "It's a full-time job," reveals Michaels, who has enlisted a team of supporters to help her get the necessary paperwork filed.
While "The Biggest Loser" turned Jillian into a financial success, she's determined not to spoil her child. "Where I live in [Los Angeles], I see children with thousands of dollars' worth of electronics who drive BMWs. And my kid is going to be the one in 2003 used Toyota Prius with a friggin' backpack while all the other girls have Hermes Birkin. And I don't care. I was taught to make my own money and find my own way."
