Bassett revealed details on his blog about the composer for his HIGHLY ANTICIPATED movie sequel:

You’ve waited a long time for this announcement, so I figured it was about time I told you all that Jeff Danna along with Akira Yamaoka will be composing the score for Silent Hill 2. Still a few details to be ironed out but I’m confident that nothing stands in the way.  I’m really pleased it’s the same team as the first movie as I thought that was a damn fine score.
Akira Yamaoka is the acclaimed composer of Silent Hill's videogame soundtracks and Jeff Danna co-ordinated with Akira on the first movie to remaster and integrate his score into the film. Basically, the whole crew's back! Source Praise Valtiel and Xucilbara for this holy news today!
