MICKEY ROURKE! "During the ceremony kind words were said about Rourke by Eric Roberts and filmmaker Jon Favreau. After that, Mickey Rourke gave plenty of thanks to his boxing friends, the many people who helped him maintain the great career he's had during the years, and his dearly loved grandmother who first properly introduced him to the world of film." Mickey Rourke took the chance of having his handprints and shoeprints cemented at Grauman's Chinese Theater's ceremony to pay tribute to his beloved dog of 18 years Loki, his younger brother Joe who died of lung cancer in 2004 at 50 years old and his grandma who passed away in 2009 at the age of 99. Also in attendance were Eric Roberts (his co-star from Pope of Greenwich Village), John Enos (a close friend of Mickey's, who Mickey was spotted kissing in the '80s, lol but Mickey kisses EVERYONE, he's the most touchiest guy ever), John Favreau (Iron Man 2 director) and Luke Evans (Immortals co-star). Proof as the most touchiest guy ever, in crappy collage form by moi. Other ways he has paid tribute to Loki since her passing. Mickey's speech is here on video at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre facebook wall. Mickey talking about them in 2009 - "My grandmother has been the most important woman in my life. I lost her about four months ago, at 99. She was incredibly well read, two books a week her entire life. She taught me the importance of being a gentleman, and how that will carry you a long way. She told me these things a million times, but maybe I didn't listen hard enough. My brother Joe was just as fond of her. He called her four times a day his whole life until he got sick. Joe died in my arms." Mickey would escape to her place as he got abused by his stepdad and his mom turned a blind eye. Mickey said earlier at the ceremony, "The actor dedicated his honor to his grandmother. "She would have told me to stand up straight, keep my shoulders back, 'make sure you take that god-damn toothpick out of your mouth so you don't look like some white trash hillbilly standing on the corner," Rourke said at the ceremony, "She would have said, 'Be polite, be a gentleman, say 'Please' and 'Thank you.'' So thank you very much. Thank you from my grandmother because I wouldn't be here if I didn't have the love she gave me." Fact: Grandma Rourke used to knit cashmere sweaters for his various chihuahuas. She's awesome, ONTD. I met Mickey last year, and he was super sweet and called me a sweetheart after I gave him a letter with Loki's picture on the envelope. ONTD: Do you have photos of yourself with celebrity feet and handprints at Grauman's? My only photo of me with handprints is those of Paul Newman, legend.
