After the ABC television network finale airs in January, One Life to Live's David, Cutter, Tea and Destiny will be reunited with Erika Slezak (Viki), Kassie DePaiva (Blair), Michael Easton (John), Ted King (Tomas), Melissa Archer (Natalie), Kelley Missal (Dani), Sean Ringgold (Shaun), Andrew Trischitta (Jack) and Jerry VerDorn (Clint), who all previously signed up. BLIND ITEM: Which Head Writing Team Busted Up When One Writer Sold a Pilot Behind The Other One's Back?!
What About Your Friends? For decades these head writers were as thick as thieves, penning soap stories together on several sudsers — until they weren't. Apparently one half of the team became incensed when he or she learned the other had sold a primetime pilot behind his or her back, and planned to poach one of the stars from the soap they were currently co-scripting! The pilot failed to go to series, but the damage was done. The longterm friends haven't spoken since.
Queen Latifah Gets a Daytime Talk Show!! We may have lost Oprah and next fall we'll find out what impact Katie Couric will have, but in 2013 daytime's getting a new Queen. According to Deadline, Queen Latifah will host a daytime talk show produced by her company Flavor Unit, with Will Smith and James Lassiter's Overbrook Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television. According to the site, Sony could've fast-tracked the talk show for a fall 2012 launch but opted to give it time to develop the way the studio did with The Dr. Oz Show, which has been the No. 1 syndicated daytime talk show in women 25-54 for the past three weeks. Sony TV does not have a contender for fall 2012 as the studio has been very selective with daytime projects, taking its time to find one that it feels it can throw its full support behind.
EMERGENCY RECAST: Brandon Buddy to Be Replaced as One Life to Live's Cole!! A bit of sad news for the Sole fans, according to sources the character of Cole Thornhart on One Life to Live, previously played by Brandon Buddy, is being recast. Reportedly Buddy was brought back and actually taped a day, but was unable to continue in the role. "The show is just sick about having to recast," says a source. "They really wanted to give Kristen [Alderson] and Brandon's fans a satisfying end to their story."
Van Hughes Cast as Cole on One Life to Live!! Broadway actor and singer Van Hughes has been cast as Cole Thornhart for One Life to Live's ABC Daytime finale. Hughes will finish out the character's storyline, as Brandon Buddy had to be recast after one day of filming his stint reprising the popular role. The scenes Buddy filmed will reportedly be reshot. Hughes appeared as Johnny in the hit musical American Idiot, based on the music of Green Day, and has had bit roles on both One Life to Live and As The World Turns. Reportedly the brass at OLTL considered scrapping Cole's return all together when it was determined Buddy couldn't continue in the role, however with production wrapping in just a few short weeks, there wasn't time to re-write the storyline, as Cole's return plays a huge factor in Starr's (Kristen Alderson) endgame.
Jessica Tuck Gets More "Life"!! True Blood scene stealer Jessica Tuck is heading back home to her One Life To Live roots. According to Soap Opera Digest, the actress was seen on the set and has reportedly taped scenes. No word on Tuck's exact airdates.
Judith Light is NOT Returning For One Life to Live Finale!!! Despite my revealing last June that One Life to Live alum Judith Light had turned down an offer to reprise the role of housewife-turned-hooker Karen Wolek, rumors seem to persist she is coming back. Unfortunately, those rumors are false. "Judith isn't coming back to One Life to Live," says a source. "She turned the show down numerous times. They had a really fun cameo for her as Karen, but she turned it down repeatedly." Reportedly Light has turned down several opportunities to reprise the role of Karen briefly over the years, most notably passing on a similar cameo appearance during the show's 40th anniversary episodes back in 2008.
The View Wants to Hold a Daytime Republican Debate! The ladies of The View have grilled politicians on their couch, argued the latest hot topics at their table and now they want to host a Republican presidential debate. According to The Huffington Post, "A spokesman for "The View" confirmed that requests have been sent to Republican campaigns but declined to speak further about any interest so far." Just how would a Republican debate on The View work? Would Barbara Walters be the moderator? Would Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd participate? If they did, candidates would surely prepare themselves for hostile questioning from Goldberg and Behar. Hasselbeck, The View's conservative voice on the panel, would probably feel at home at such a debate, but who would have guessed the one-time Survivor competitor might one day be involved in a Republican presidential debate?

WHERE ARE THEY NOW: Barbara Crampton (THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, GUIDING LIGHT)! Barbara Crampton, best known to soap fans for her run as Leanna Love on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, was recently interviewed by Crave Online. Crampton has a huge horror following and stars in the new film, You're Next. Crampton, who also played Mindy Lewis on GUIDING LIGHT (miscast alert!) and Trista Evans on DAYS OF OUR LIVES among other soap roles, feels watching a daily soap opera is too much of a commitment these days. Said Crampton: "You can't do it. There's too much else going on. I'm glad to say that I was a part of it when they were big. They were a big part of my life." She feels soaps are now being reinvented thanks to reality shows. "JERSEY SHORE is kind of like a soap opera now. That's the new version of the soap opera, the reality soap opera, and THE KARDASHIANS. I don't watch either one of those. They're just not my thing but millions of people watch them so I think the soap opera is just being reinvented." Crampton does remember her time at THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS fondly. "That's one of my favorite roles and I know a lot of horror people don't know me from that genre," she said. "It was definitely a favorite part of mine. When I got that part, it was only supposed to be for three months. I was supposed to be a crazy psychotic woman who comes in to kill Eileen Davidson's character, Ashley Abbott. So I did a few scenes and then they said after a few days, 'We really like this character so we're going to continue it on for about another year. Would you like to do it?'" http://www.craveonline.com/film/articles/177203-barbara-crampton-on-youre-next-re-animator-and-more Has THE REVOLUTION Hired a Fraud? All 10 Positive Reviews of Dr. Jennifer Ashton, MD Flagged by Yelp on Suspicion of Inauthenticity! Upon learning that an Ob-Gyn MD had been added to the cast of the new ABC show, THE REVOLUTION, We Love Soaps endeavored to confirm that the new personality was an appropriately exemplary physician. We wanted to find out what her patients thought of Dr. Jennifer Ashton, MD before she was positioned as an expert for millions of women in the ABC audience to trust with their most personal concerns. Before there were reliable, accessible consumer-review companies like Yelp, choosing a doctor could be an arduous crap shoot. Luckily, today, educated patients can "google" their prospective physicians and read standardized, candid reviews written by other patients. Between December 8, 2008 and may 18, 2010 ten users posted reviews of Dr. Ashton. Every single one of these reviewers gave her the highest possible rating--five stars--but none of them were accepted by the folks at Yelp. Yelp essentially red-flagged every single review. However, besides being banned by Yelp's filtering system, it's always fishy when every single reviewer (of a doctor, a movie, a restaurant, or anything, really) gives a perfect score--and then, there are comments like these: - What a wonderful experience! Linda N. - I felt as though I was interacting with Dr. Ashton and her staff for years even though this was my first visit :). Lisa S. - I wish I could CLONE Dr. Ashton! THREE CHEERS! Lynn F. Those are just the three most recent reviews, but the pattern is clear. To be fair, we also looked her up on vitals.com, a site that specializes in rating only doctors. As it turns out, most of the reviews here were copies of the Yelp reviews.
Brian Frons 'Thrilled' to Give ONE LIFE TO LIVE Time Slot to Dr. Jennifer Ashton, Dr. Tiffanie Davis Henry! In what appears to be another attempt to punch-up ONE LIFE TO LIVE's replacement, THE REVOLUTION, Brian Frons has re-jiggered the cast to contain an obstetrician/gynecologist and a psychotherapist. "I am thrilled to bring this stellar team of experts to THE REVOLUTION" said Frons. "I am confident that the combination of these co-hosts, along with our producing partners at 3 Ball Productions/Eyeworks USA who specialize in lifestyle transformations, will resonate with our viewers." ABC reports that a financial reporter has been thrown into the mix, as well. Michelle Singletary writes the nationally syndicated personal finance column, "The Color of Money," for The Washington Post. ABC is still struggling to make THE CHEW a success after it replaced ALL MY CHILDREN in the 1:00 PM time slot. As TV Media Insights clearly outlines, THE CHEW's ratings may not be strong enough to justify making another, very similar programming change at 2:00 PM. All My Children (ABC) – Week of 10/18/10 Viewers: 2.31 million, Women 25-54: 1.2/ 8, Women 18-49: 0.8/ 6, Women 18-34: 0.5/ 3 The Chew (ABC) – Week of 10/17/11 Viewers: 1.94 million, Women 25-54: 0.9/ 5, Women 18-49: 0.6/ 4, Women 18-34: 0.4/ 2 All My Children Advantage Viewers: + 19 percent, Women 25-54: +33, Women 18-49: +33, Women 18-34: +25
Telenovela Star Aaron Diaz To Guest On PAN AM! Aaron Diaz, who is best known for appearing in the lead role in the recent hit telenovela TERESA, will guest star as Miguel, a dashing, charming and wealthy entrepreneur on the upcoming episode, "Unscheduled Departure," of ABC's new Sunday night soap, PAN AM, airing Sunday, November 13 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET). The multi-talented Diaz has been the lead in four very successful primetime novelas, as well as being a singer-composer. In 2009 he released his first solo big band album, as well as launched his clothing line, Perra, becoming both a designer and businessman. In 2011 he played the coveted lead role of the doctor in the soap opera TERESA, a remake of the telenovela which launched Salma Hayek's career. It broke ratings records throughout Mexico, the U.S. (Univision) - often in the top 50 -- and in several Latin American countries. He also released a 2011 calendar which sold-out. His second album was the self-titled "Aaron Diaz," and his film, Todo Un Hombre, is soon to be released.
Should Cricket Be Afraid of Loca Isabella's Son on Young and Restless?! Is Ricky Williams (Peter Porte) a nut off the old fruitcake? Cricket (Lauralee Bell) seems to think so. TV Guide's Michael Logan gets the 411 from Bell on whether or not Ricky's gonna go all muy loco like his madre Isabella (Eva Longoria)! TV Guide Magazine: Let's talk about these Isabella memories that are being dredged up. Can this Ricky kid be trusted? Bell: That whole Isabella thing was a very scary time for Chris and Paul and now they wonder if there's something off about Ricky. At first, no one knew Isabella was crazy. He could be a whack job like his mother. Time will tell. But seeing Ricky for the first time as a man is really startling for Chris. And for me, too. TV Guide Magazine: He shouldn't be any older than eight or nine. Now he's twentysomething. Bell: And he's taller than Paul! Chris can't help but look at this kid and think, "Because of your existence, my life changed forever." As much as she'd like to say, "Wow, you're Paul's son! That's so cool!" she'd really like to say, "You totally f'ed up my life!" Paul's feeling bad about the whole situation because he has a son he doesn't know at all. He's missed so many years with Ricky. Still, there's that suspicion. Ricky has that blood connection with Isabella and that can be a dangerous thing. Sounds like Cricket needs to be packing heat!
Major Orlando ABC Affiliate to Give General Hospital Timeslot to Steve Harvey!! And so it begins. ABC's risky move to cede back an hour of programming time a day to affiliates, in exchange for TV stations agreeing to air Katie Couric's next attempt at proving post-Today Show relevance, is starting to cripple the viability of the network's final soap opera General Hospital. Since Katie will air in Orlando on WESH-Channel 2, Orlando's WFTV-Channel 9 plans to give GH's timelot to Steve Harvey's planned talk show in the fall of 2012, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Is anyone else having deja yuck back to the time when one affiliate after another started cancelling Another World in the 90's before the final nail was placed in that beloved serial's coffin?

DAYS OF OUR LIVES Confirms Character Is Coming Out! It seems like we have been talking about the possibility of DAYS OF OUR LIVES character Will Horton coming out of the closet for ages. While we've waited, DAYS brought on the character of Sonny, played by Freddie Smith, and did everything possible to confuse us about the future of a possible gay storyline. Now the show has finally confirmed that Will is gay. Chandler Massey, who earned his first Emmy nomination last year for his work as Will, released this statement posted at EW.com: "I'm thrilled to be able to portray my character in an empowering way that will show his struggle to accept who he is. It is my hope that this storyline will inspire others to be true to themselves as well." According to EW, Will's sexual orientation will become obvious to the viewers as well as family and friends but his journey toward self-acceptance is expected to unfold over the next few weeks, the show says. Co-Executive Producer Greg Meng had this to say: "We are excited to have the encouragement and support from both NBC and Sony to tell the inspiring story of a young man learning who he is as he defines and creates his relationships with others."
Bravo's Andy Cohen was a soap fan! On Friday, Bravo TV producer Andy Cohen will host Violet Eyes in the Red City, a fundraising event for the American Foundation for AIDS Research. Cohen will host a Gary Danko dinner with entertainment from Alan Cumming, followed by a cocktail party with a performance by Chaka Khan. Call (415) 402-0303 or visit www.amfar.org for tickets. When did you know that you wanted to work in media? I always knew. I always loved television, ever since I was young. I loved the news. I loved soap operas, like "All My Children," and I think the "Housewives" shows have become the modern soap opera.
Lisa Rinna Gets Into Bikini Shape For DAYS OF OUR LIVES! Lisa Rinna will be returning to the soap "Days of our Lives" next month and is making sure she looks as good as she did back in 1993 when she first played Billie Reed. "I've been doing yoga and my body is looking real good right now," Lisa told me about her killer curves. But its not just her body that Lisa hopes to be in perfect shape when she returns to the role that made her famous, she also wants her mind to be in a great place. "Harry and I just had a romantic getaway at the One&Only Pamilla in Cabo," Lisa told me ahead of her return to Horton Square in December.
HOLLYWOOD MOMS NIGHT Promo: New Alison Sweeney Show! The show premieres Sunday, November 27 at 8/7c on TV Guide Network.
OLTL: Headwriter Ron Carlivati Reveals Some Finale Plans! One Life to Live's Daytime Emmy winning, head writer, Ron Carlivati told Soap Opera Digest in their latest issue on sale now that since he is staying with OLTL when the show moves to The Online Network next year he now has a clear vision of how he plans to end the series in its finale on ABC and then set-up its continuation online. Carlivati stated, "I had to rethink a lot of things. Even though, yes, it should end like a big normal Friday cliffhanger, you also want to reward people who have watched it on ABC for all these years. They want to have an emotional payoff for a lot of characters they love, so our goal is to do both things: some payoff, some happy endings, and also some big cliffhangers that will keep you guessing so you want to know what happens next." Ron also went on to say that knowing several key cast members have signed on to OLTL's online version that it helped him in the transition of story. "Now that we have a clearer idea, I was able to hone in and focus on how its going to wrap up. We still have a ways to go before that! But it has all been thought through and figured out and I'm really happy with it."
Days of Our Lives Snags Ian Buchanan! It looks like things are going to get interesting for Sara Brown's Madison on Days of Our Lives. According to TV Guide, DAYS has cast Ian Buchanan as "Ian McAllister, a mega-rich businessman with a powerful and dangerous hold over cosmetics mogul Madison James." Buchanan's episodes will begin airing February 9.
White Chocolate: Martha Byrne SIZZLES in Anacostia Season 3 Trailer!! Former As The World Turns show killer Chris Goutman may not have realized what a superstar he had in Martha Byrne, but Anacostia creator/star Anthony Anderson seems to have figured it out! The pair of creatives met when Byrne hosted the Second Annual Indie Soap Awards, sponsored by We Love Soaps. Anderson, who won for Outstanding Lead Actor that year, asked Byrne to appear in his series and lucky for us she jumped at the chance! Check out the soapgasmic Season 3 trailer for the scandalous, urban sudser—featuring La Byrne like you've never seen her before.
Cameron Mathison makes Broadway debut in "Mary Poppins"! Mathison made a cameo role in "Mary Poppins" at the New Amsterdam Theatre. Susan Lucci was in attendance.
Rick Springfield on the "demise of the soap opera on American TV"! "I think it's really a statement of the times we're living in. People are much more interested in shows that claim to be 'reality.' They are the new soap operas, and capturing the ever-shortening attention spans that we have."
Hunter Tylo not working at THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, for now! And nothing seems to have changed since she tweeted "No work. No work. No work." on October 19.
Hollywood's biggest tech star: Port Charles actor Nolan North (ex-Chris)! Until recently Nolan North had relished the anonymity of a video game. "I won't be in People magazine," he muses. Though he admits he is a neurotic regular at the gym just in case fans do recognise him and look at him with "disappointment".
George Kennedy on if he would return to THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS "They asked me a couple of times. I did it once out of my friendship for Eric Braeden. But, that's a whole different thing. Those kids are all a fifth my age. They're just out of high school or college and I felt like an Egyptian mummy sitting there."
Chandler Massey talks to Greg in Hollywood about Will's DAYS OF OUR LIVES coming out story! There has been a lot of buzz this week about plans for the character of Will Horton to come out as gay on NBC's Days of Our Lives. Emmy nominee Chandler Massey, who plays the teenager, gave his first extensive interview on the storyline to Greg In Hollywood on Tuesday night and promises that after a slow build since last summer, things will be moving along soon. "Over the next few months, you're going to see a whole new side of Will," said the 21-year-old actor. "From beginning of December through January, there will be no lack of storyline there." Last week, Will had a heart-to-heart with grandmother Marlena (soap legend Deidre Hall) and shared that he was "confused" about the relationship but did not elaborate. "Will does really care about Gabi and loves her, just not in the 'I want to have sex' kind of way," explained Chandler. "There is definitely love there but you can't change who you are." "I love the fact that [the writers] are developing a friendship between Sonny and Will, I feel it's more realistic," he said. "Just like in any realistic relationship, there will be a basis of friendship there first before there would be anything romantic."
And should Will find romance with Sonny or another character, Chandler is not afraid to lock lips with another male actor. "I'm an actor and I play a role," he said. "Anything they give me, it's my job to go and make real and relevant." Chandler, who has been a part of the NOH8 photo project and participated in AIDS Walk Los Angeles last month, is also well aware that Will's coming out storyline will be closely watched by teens and by the LGBT community in general. "It's an honor," he said. "I'm 100 percent behind the LGBT community. The more representation they get in daytime, I'm thrilled."

Christie Clark Interview: How the 'Days of Our Lives' star, wife and mom juggles it all! Christie Clark is living the best kind of double life. Three days a week, she's a glamorous soap star, playing Carrie Reed on Days of Our Lives. Four days a week, she's a devoted wife and mother back home in San Francisco, cooking dinner for her husband Tom Barnes and nurturing their two daughters, Hannah, 3½ and Emma, 1. Clark calls it "a dream life" and eagerly reflects on every rewarding minute of it.
It's been a while since you've been on Days full-time. What have you missed most about the gig? Hair, makeup, wardrobe... kissing cute boys and getting paid for it. Also, just acting and being in Salem, which has so much history for me.
Who among the cast did you share the warmest reunion with? Drake Hogestyn (John) and Patrick Muldoon (Austin). Patrick and I have really stayed in touch. Drake and I have that connection of him being like a father to me, when I was growing up. He's such a warm, loving man. I adore him. It was nice to see Deidre Hall (Marlena) and Alison Sweeney (Sami), too. We have such a history together.
It looks like something might be developing between Carrie and Sami's husband Rafe. Is that something you'd welcome? Everyone seems to be thinking that, and it's interesting. I've been given the two funniest, most handsome men on the show to work with. So I'm in heaven.
What about your real-life husband, Tom? How is he dealing with having his wife gone three days a week, when you're working on Days? Tom's life has definitely taken a downward turn as far as having food on the table. He has to come home and do the last hour of putting the girls to bed, when I'm not there. It's a little hard on that front, but then his wife comes home really fulfilled as a woman. So, hopefully, that makes up for it. We're also getting closer to paying off our house.
You have two daughters. Do you and Tom ever talk about trying for a third child, hopefully, a boy? Absolutely. We're in negotiations. At the moment I'm just interested in doing a good job on the show. So it's going to be put off a little bit. We've always both wanted three children. So I think that's in our future.
Will you do anything to up the odds of having a boy? We can definitely try. There are all kinds of things you can do... [have sex] in funny positions and lean against the wall upside down. But I'm fairly certain if we tried for a third child, it would end up being Hannah and her sisters.
Agnes Nixon Returns to One Life To Live!! According to TV Guide Magazine's Michael Logan, Agnes Nixon will make a guest appearance on the sudser she created. Nixon will play Agnes Dixon, creator of Fraternity Row. Nixon's airdate is slated for the week of Jan. 9. Long time OLTL fans will remember Fraternity Row was an intergal part of the show in the late 80's. The soap-within-a-soap stared Megan Gordon (Jessica Tuck) and was produced by Bo Buchanan,
Ingo Rademacher Tweets 'Aloha' to Hawaii Five-0! Missed seeing Ingo Rademacher on General Hospital? If so, you'll soon have a chance to see him in primetime. The actor tweeted he's fliming a guest role on Hawaii Five-0.
Gonna go to work tomorrow morning. A little guest role on that awesome show Hawaii50. Looking forward to it. Alison Sweeney won't be at the Day of DAYS event! Hi everyone, The "Day of Days" event is this Saturday, November 5. It's one of my favorite events of the year, and I was planning to be there, as I always am, but I just found out that I can't be. NBC needs me to be in NYC that day. This also means I will miss the spin class on November 6. I am so sad about this, and so very, very sorry. Apparently I need an evil twin! Check back here for news about a special treat for those who were planning to attend the spin class with me on Sunday. XO Ali Families Will Keep Feuding Through 2015! Watching families fight still pays off. According to Deadline, Steve Harvey's Family Feud has been renewed by distributor Debmar-Mercury through 2015, in over 75 percent of the country. Reportedly, the syndicated late afternoon and early evening game show has grown by 35 percent in households and 40 percent among women 25-54 with Harvey as host.
The Online Network's Pitch to Investors & the Profitability of ONE LIFE TO LIVE, ALL MY CHILDREN! Peter Kafka over at the Wall Street Journal's "All Things D" blog claims that Prospect Park chief Jeff Kwatinetz "has yet to win over enough financial backers, which is why he's now talking to people like me, hoping we'll help him make his case." Kafka goes on to outline the pitch he heard from The Online Network (TOLN). Here, we boil it down to three salient points. 1. Prospect Park doesn't have the money yet. In a nutshell, every episode will continue to cost $160,000, whether on TV or on TOLN, leading to the need for $80 million to produce both soaps for a year. Kwatinetz wants $65 million in hand to start off. He doesn't have it. We can probably infer from this point, by itself, that we won't be seeing any new episodes in January 2012 after all. After that, what is PP's game plan? 2. PP projects that only 250,000 web views will make an episode profitable. For the sake of argument, say ONE LIFE TO LIVE and ALL MY CHILDREN were both capturing 2.5 million viewers each for an average episode in 2011. According to Kafka, Kwatinetz thinks if just a tenth of those fans will watch on the web, he'll be set. In a sense, that's great news--after all, some of the posts on our little site can get over 60,000 views. Surely a new episode of AMC can triple that? However, it's hard to escape the fact that the whole premise of transferring an audience from one medium to another is almost entirely untested. We're actually not sure that 10% will continue to the web (especially when they can wait a week and see it on cable) and we're also skeptical about being able to break even with the same costs, but one-tenth of the first-run audience. Magical thinking? 3. Thankfully, when we see the revenue projections, it all seems possible once again. The key, we surmise, is that PP is planning to establish many discreet revenue streams. Let's start with the first "airing": online, streaming at TOLN. Apparently, Hulu can charge $40 for every thousand people that view an ad (during programming of similar appeal). If TOLN charges advertisers the same rates as Hulu (in other words, market rates), then (bear with us here!) the math actually works out fine: 250 thousand viewers x $40 per thousand views = $10,000 per ad per espisode. Going back to the original cost of $160,000, looks like more than half of that could easily be generated from web viewers. Maybe even more, let's be realistic. It's possible to cram 16 commercials into an episode of AMC or OLTL, even on the web. In which case, TOLN breaks even on that first "airing" and all the other revenue streams, such as cable, pay per view, on-demand, iTunes, dvds, and so on would be, as they say, pure gravy.
Y&R's Jess Walton: Michael Learned Is A "Trouper"! Beginning next week, Emmy winner Michael Learned (ex-Shirley, GENERAL HOSPITAL) -- best known for her run as matriarch Olivia on THE WALTONS -- will temporarily step in for Daytime Emmy winner Jeanne Cooper as Katherine on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. (As previously reported, Cooper had to take a brief medical leave.) "Michael's doing a wonderful job, but Jeanne is Jeanne," says co-star Jess Walton (Jill). "Michael knows that she's just filling in for Jeanne. Nobody's asking her to be her, anyway. It's just a 'the part is being played by temporarily' situation. Michael's wonderful, but Jeanne is irreplaceable." While Cooper's Katherine is indeed one-of-a-kind, Walton says that Learned is doing an admirable job. "She's very easy to work with. The woman knows what she's doing, obviously," she raves. "She's a trouper." Walton has been in touch with Cooper by telephone, and reports that Genoa City's grande dame is on the road to recovery. "The last time I spoke with her she was doing much better," shares Walton, adding that she's been giving Cooper periodic reports on Learned. "I told her that I'd call her and let her know how 'Ma Walton' is doing." Learned will make her Y&R debut on Thursday, November 10.
